The book of Acts is one of the most critical books for understanding the Bible, but also one of the most challenging. It bridges the gap between the life of Christ recorded in the four gospels, and the epistles of Paul, helping explain the vast difference between these two portions of Scripture. These studies provide a verse by verse study through this important book from a dispensational viewpoint, showing the transition from God’s focus on Israel to the start of the Church, the Body of Christ.

These Bible studies were taught by Pastor Gregg Bing in the Adult Sunday School Class at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, Texas from 2014 to 2015.

Reminders to Timothy - Suffer for the Gospel

2 Timothy

(2 Timothy 2:8) In contrast to being ashamed of the testimony of (concerning) our Lord or of Paul, His prisoner, Timothy was encouraged by Paul to share with him in the sufferings for the gospel according to the power of God. Timothy had seen Paul do this throughout his ministry, and in this same letter, tells Timothy that "all those who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution." Suffering for the name and cause of Christ is a privilege we have been granted by God, but we don't have to do it in our own power. We are empowered by God to proclaim the gospel and to endure the sufferings that will come to those who do.

From Series: "2 Timothy"

A verse by verse study of Paul's last letter, written to Timothy, his son in the faith. Paul, knowing he had completed his own ministry from the Lord and was near the end of his life, wrote this letter to Timothy (and to all believers) stressing the importance of continuing the ministry of God's Word. Perilous times were coming, during which more and more people would resist the truth and even turn their ears away from it. Yet, the charge to Timothy, as well as to every believer, is to hold fast to the truth of the mystery and the gospel of God's grace that God had given through Paul, to continue to live out these truths, and to faithfully proclaim this message of grace to others.
