This series of Bible messages is a study through the book of 2 Timothy. This is one of Paul’s pastoral epistles, meaning it was written to a pastor regarding the work and ministry of a local church. This is Paul’s last epistle, and his final instructions to Timothy. Paul knows his ministry for the Lord is over, and he is about to die. So, he charges Timothy with the task of carrying on the work of the Lord and fulfilling his own ministry, knowing that perilous times are coming. This letter warns that the last days of this present age of grace will be marked by a departure from the truth of God’s Word. Thus, Paul stressed the importance of standing for the truth, especially the truth of the mystery entrusted to him by the Lord, to continue in it, and the preach the Word.
