This series of Bible messages is a study through the book of Philippians. The saints at Philippi were very dear to the Apostle Paul and had faithfully supported him in the ministry, but there was some disunity among the believers in this church. Paul wrote this letter encouraging them to have the same mind (or mindset), one of humility and care for others. They were instructed, “let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.” Our Savior was willing to lay aside the glory and form He had eternally with the Father and to enter this world in the form of a bondservant, the likeness of men. Being found in this form, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the will of His Father, to the point of death, even the death of the cross. This is the mindset we should have as bondservants of Jesus Christ.
