This series of Bible messages is a study through the book of 1 Timothy. This is one of Paul’s pastoral epistles, meaning it was written to a pastor regarding the work and ministry of a local church. The key verse in 1 Timothy is found in chapter 3, verse. 15, “… I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” Instructions include the importance of sound doctrine, roles for men and women in the local church, the requirements for church leaders, how to respond to apostasy, and instructions for people in the church, warnings about false teaching, and instructions to a “man of God.”
