Our Savior, the Lord Jesus, was the greatest Teacher who ever lived. Even unbelieving Jews recognized that “No man ever spoke like this Man!” One of the tools that Jesus used in teaching was parables, which are typically defined as stories or situations from daily life used to illustrate a spiritual truth. In this series of lessons, we study Jesus’ use of parables, looking at how and why Jesus used parables, as well as examining many of the major parables recorded in the synoptic gospels.

These Bible lessons were taught by Pastor Gregg Bing in 2022 during the adult Sunday school class at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.

Israel's Response to the King - 5

The Parables of Jesus

Part 6 - "Israel's Response to the King - 5" (Matthew 12:22-30) - We continue looking at Israel's response to their King, the Lord Jesus. The Pharisees again confront Jesus over His power to cast out demons. When the people wonder whether Jesus could be the Son of David, the rightful Heir to the throne, they accuse Him of casting out demons by the power of Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons. Jesus refutes their accusation and declares that His power to cast out demons by the Spirit of God is proof of His authority as Israel's Messiah and King.
