A series of Bible messages that addresses the problems that seem to be steadily growing worse every day, both in our country and in the world. We are living in the mist of a global pandemic (Coronavirus) that has adversely affected so many people in so many ways. We are living in a time of great social and political unrest which has divided people in so many ways and resulted in a growing animosity between them. The greatest problem in the world is a spiritual problem, and the greatest need in our world is love. Not the type of love that the unbelieving world usually talks about, but the kind of love that comes from God, the kind of love described by the Greek word “agape” in the New Testament Scriptures. In this series, we explore the meaning and the characteristics of agape love and how it can impact our world for good.

These Bible messages were preached in 2020 (in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic and the social unrest over racial issues) by Pastor Gregg Bing during the morning worship service at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.

What the World Needs Now is Love

What the World Needs Now is Love

Our world and our country is divided in so many ways: politically, racially, financially, even religiously. We see strife, envy, and hatred directed at one another rather than respect and love. What the world really needs now is love, but the problem is that most people do not know God and are not capable of genuinely loving one another, because love is of God. The primary problem in the world is a spiritual problem, which is where the Church comes in. The Church is made up of all believers in Jesus Christ as Savior. We do know God, therefore we are capable of showing forth love to others. Who are we to love? As Jesus told the Pharisees, we are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind, but we are also to love our neighbors as we love ourselves. And who is our neighbor? Based on Jesus' parable of the good Samaritan, we are to love any who are in need, which includes all people without regard to politics, social position, finances, or race. We are all of one blood, all descended from Adam, thus we are to show compassion and kindness to any who are hurting and in need. Right now the black community is hurting because of the racism and injustice they have faced for so long and are in need of our love and compassion . The ones who can and should rise up in support of them and show them love is first and foremost the Church. In our next message, we will examine what the nature of our love for one another should look like.

From Series: "What the World Needs Now is Love"

We live in a world that is divided over so many issues: a global pandemic, racial equality, moral issues, social issues, politics, and religion. The divisions have become so intense that the world seems filled with envy, jealousy, enmity, and violence toward one another. Few treat others with respect, kindness, or love. Love is clearly the greatest need, but not the type of love the world thinks of. We need the type of love that comes only from God. This series deals with why type of love is missing from the world, where it comes from, and how it should be shown by those who know God through Jesus Christ.
