This series of lessons examines the person and work of the third person of the Godhead, the Holy Spirit. The series begins by studying the doctrine of the triune nature of God; looking at the difficulty of understanding this concept, and examining the three fundamental elements of the doctrine of the trinity. We then move on to look at the work of the Holy Spirit including: His work in the Old Testament, His coming into the world, His work in regard to our salvation, and the filling of the Holy Spirit.

These Bible lessons were taught by Pastor Gregg Bing in 2019 during the adult Sunday school class at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.

Reminders to Timothy - Do Not be Ashamed

2 Timothy

(2 Timothy 2:8) Because of his fearful and timid nature, which had been intensified by Paul's imprisonment and Rome's persecution of Christians in general, Timothy had evidently been neglecting the gift for ministry he had been given by God. Paul reminded him to stir up this gift (bring it to full flame) for God had not given him a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind. Therefore, Paul commands Timothy to not be ashamed of the testimony of (or concerning) our Lord, nor of Paul, His prisoner. This testimony conerning Christ includes: the gospel of Jesus Christ, which is also the gospel of the grace of God, and the mystery of Christ, concerning the Church, the Body of Christ. Even though these truths are not often accepted by others, Timothy is not to be ashamed to boldly proclaim them.

From Series: "2 Timothy"

A verse by verse study of Paul's last letter, written to Timothy, his son in the faith. Paul, knowing he had completed his own ministry from the Lord and was near the end of his life, wrote this letter to Timothy (and to all believers) stressing the importance of continuing the ministry of God's Word. Perilous times were coming, during which more and more people would resist the truth and even turn their ears away from it. Yet, the charge to Timothy, as well as to every believer, is to hold fast to the truth of the mystery and the gospel of God's grace that God had given through Paul, to continue to live out these truths, and to faithfully proclaim this message of grace to others.
