This series of messages is a dispensational look at the subject of prayer. Prayer is such an important part of our lives as believers, but we often don’t know how or what to pray for. Many believers take some passages out of context; instructions given specifically to Israel under the law or in anticipation of the kingdom, are applied to believers today in this present age of grace. This only causes confusion and often brings disappointment in a person’s prayer life. These lessons provide practical guidelines for prayer in this present dispensation of grace.

Irresistible Grace - 5

A Scriptural Look at Calvinism

(John 6:50-71) We conclude our study in John 6, a passage which contains several verses used by Calvinists to support their doctrines, including our current topic: irresistible grace. Jesus declares Himself to be the Bread of Life, the One who alone provides spiritual life, everlasting life, In the last portion of His discourse He stresses that only those who partake of Him will actually receive this life. Many of those who had followed Him, when they heard His words, were offended and many went back and walked with Him no more. Only those who truly believed continued with Him, knowing He had the words of eternal life.
