This series of messages is a dispensational look at the subject of prayer. Prayer is such an important part of our lives as believers, but we often don’t know how or what to pray for. Many believers take some passages out of context; instructions given specifically to Israel under the law or in anticipation of the kingdom, are applied to believers today in this present age of grace. This only causes confusion and often brings disappointment in a person’s prayer life. These lessons provide practical guidelines for prayer in this present dispensation of grace.

Total Depravity - 2

A Scriptural Look at Calvinism

We continue looking at the Calvinist definition of "total depravity." We consider the Calvinist assertions that faith is the gift of God, and that faith is a work, looking at their primary proof text for this in Ephesians 2:8-9. We also begin a study of their proof texts for their interpretation of total depravity: Romans 3:10-11, by considering the full context and purpose of the entire passage: Romans 1:16 - 3:20.

Scripture References: Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 3:26-28, Romans 4:1-5, Romans 3:10-12, Romans 1:15-20
