Most people assume that water baptism is something that Christians should still practice today, but they certainly don’t agree as to who, how, or why it should be practiced. The Apostle Paul, our apostle for this present dispensation of grace, declares in Ephesians 4:3-6 that one aspect of the unity of the Spirit is that there is only one baptism. In this brief series, we examine what Paul meant by this and how it affects our understanding of the place of baptism in God’s purpose for His people.

These Bible messages on the One Baptism were preached by Pastor Gregg Bing in 2006-2007 during the morning worship services at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.

The Virgin Birth

Sunday Morning Message

One of the most essential doctrines associated with the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ is that He would be born of a virgin. This was the sign given to the house of David through the prophet Isaiah in the days of King Ahaz (Isaiah 7:14). Though it is denied by the world, even by many who go by the name of "Christian," the truth of this teaching is crucial to the very foundation of Christianity, the purpose for Christ's coming into the world: that He might die on the cross as a sacrifice for our sins. This morning, we examine the clear declaration that Jesus was, indeed, born of a virgin, and consider why this doctrine is so important.
