Most people assume that water baptism is something that Christians should still practice today, but they certainly don’t agree as to who, how, or why it should be practiced. The Apostle Paul, our apostle for this present dispensation of grace, declares in Ephesians 4:3-6 that one aspect of the unity of the Spirit is that there is only one baptism. In this brief series, we examine what Paul meant by this and how it affects our understanding of the place of baptism in God’s purpose for His people.

These Bible messages on the One Baptism were preached by Pastor Gregg Bing in 2006-2007 during the morning worship services at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.

A New Kind of Life

Sunday Morning Message

As believers we have been given a new kind of life in Christ; we are made new creations in Him. This new life should be reflected in the way we walk. Too often, the daily conduct of many Christians is no different from that of the unsaved world around them. In Ephesians 4:17-24, the Apostle Paul instructs us that we should no longer walk as we did when we were unsaved. This implies that it is possible, even for Christians, to do so. We know better. It is important that we put off our old way of life and put on the new. We cannot shine as lights in the world, if we walk as if we were still in darkness.
