Limited Atonement - 4

A Scriptural Look at Calvinism

We continue looking at the 3rd tenet of Calvinism, the "L" in the TULIP acronym, "Limited Atonement." We look at the Calvinist's attempted explanations of the many verses which declare that Christ died for the sins of "the whole world," meaning "all" people and how these explanations fall short. We also look at how Calvinist doctrines are an affront to the nature and character of God, who is love; a love that is demonstrated by His sending His own beloved Son to die for those who are sinful and ungodly by nature, totally undeserving. While Calvinists assert that God is best glorified by His absolute sovereignty, but He will be glorified throughout eternity for His love, mercy, and grace toward sinners like us. Calvinist teaching, particularly unconditional election and limited atonement, actually limit and detract from both God's love and His sovereignty.
