A Scriptural Look at Calvinism

(John 6:37-51) We continue looking at John 6 in which Jesus teaches a group of Jews who followed Him only for the physical benefits He provides, that He is the Bread of Life, who gives spiritual, eternal life to those who come to Him and believe in Him. When the Jews complain because He said He had come down from heaven, Jesus pointed out that only those who have been drawn by the Father can come to Him. Calvinists interpret this as meaning that God only draws the elect, and that they will come to Him. However, the Father drew all in Israel to Him through the Word that was given to them; the problem was they did not hear and believe, therefore, they did not come to Jesus to hear and believe Him either.
