While people typically don't have much use for broken things or, sadly, even broken people, God, in His infinite wisdom, chooses to use both to accomplish His will. He doesn't choose those with the greatest worldly wisdom or wealth position or gifts or abilities (1 Cor. 1:26-31), to ensure that no one should glory in themselves, but only in the Lord.
