The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in history; it is the central theme of the Scriptures; it is the crisis point through which God’s eternal purpose of redemption was accomplished. It is imperative that we study and know about this critical event in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this series, we examine one particular aspect of the crucifixion: the 7 statements Jesus made while He hung on the cross. These statements, which were uttered during the greatest event in history, are clearly significant. We will look at the order in which the statements were made, the situation and purpose for each statement, and the insight each one gives us into the mind and heart of our Savior as well as the reason that He died on that cross.

Paul's Transitional Ministry

Acts - Book of Transitions

(1 Corinthians 9:19-23) The book of Acts is a transitional book, taking us from God's dealings with Israel (who were still living under the law) through the ministry of Peter and the Twelve; to God's dealings with the Church (who live under the dispensation of grace) through the ministry of Paul and his companions. Though many try to define a definite boundary between law and grace, the transition is gradual and progressive. This is true even during the last half of the book that focuses on Paul's ministry to the Jew first and then to the Gentile. The unique nature of Paul's Acts period ministry during this transitional time is shown in his words in 1 Corinthians 9:19-23. Understanding this shows us the need to rightly divide even Paul's epistles, seeing that the early epistles (written during the Acts period) reflect the transitional nature of his ministry.

From Series: "Acts - Book of Transitions"

The book of Acts is one of the most important books in the Bible, touching on many key doctrines that affect how we worship and serve the Lord. Yet, it is also one of the most misunderstood books of the Bible, an issue that has caused great division among believers. This series of lessons is a verse by verse study, from a dispensational perspective, through the book of Acts, a book that is marked by transition. These messages were preached by Pastor Gregg Bing at Grace Bible Church during the morning worship service in 2022-2023.
