The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in history; it is the central theme of the Scriptures; it is the crisis point through which God’s eternal purpose of redemption was accomplished. It is imperative that we study and know about this critical event in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this series, we examine one particular aspect of the crucifixion: the 7 statements Jesus made while He hung on the cross. These statements, which were uttered during the greatest event in history, are clearly significant. We will look at the order in which the statements were made, the situation and purpose for each statement, and the insight each one gives us into the mind and heart of our Savior as well as the reason that He died on that cross.

Final Blindness Upon Israel
(Acts 28:23-29) After arriving in Rome, Paul met with the Jewish leaders there and spent all day long reasoning with them from the Old Testament Scriptures, showing that Jesus of Nazareth was the Christ. Some were persuaded, but the rest disbelieved. As they began to leave, Paul spoke one last word to them, quoting the prophecy of Isaiah 6:9-10, a pronouncement of spiriutal blindness.This morning, we look at the significance of this final blindness being pronounced upon the nation of Israel.
