The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in history; it is the central theme of the Scriptures; it is the crisis point through which God’s eternal purpose of redemption was accomplished. It is imperative that we study and know about this critical event in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this series, we examine one particular aspect of the crucifixion: the 7 statements Jesus made while He hung on the cross. These statements, which were uttered during the greatest event in history, are clearly significant. We will look at the order in which the statements were made, the situation and purpose for each statement, and the insight each one gives us into the mind and heart of our Savior as well as the reason that He died on that cross.

The Corinthians Letter - Corrective Purpose

The Lord\'s Supper

The purpose of the Corinthian letter was not to reveal doctrinal truth for the Church, but to correct serious practical errors in this local assembly caused by their spiritual immaturity. In dealing with the issue of the Lord's Supper (1 Cor. 11), the purpose was the same, to correct error.

From Series: "The Lord's Supper"

A dispensational look at the Lord's Supper or communion, a memorial observance practiced by most churches. This series examines the two main portions of Scripture that deal with this issue: the gospel accounts of the last supper Jesus celebrated with His apostles and Paul's first letter to the Corinthians, chapter 11.
