The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in history; it is the central theme of the Scriptures; it is the crisis point through which God’s eternal purpose of redemption was accomplished. It is imperative that we study and know about this critical event in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this series, we examine one particular aspect of the crucifixion: the 7 statements Jesus made while He hung on the cross. These statements, which were uttered during the greatest event in history, are clearly significant. We will look at the order in which the statements were made, the situation and purpose for each statement, and the insight each one gives us into the mind and heart of our Savior as well as the reason that He died on that cross.

The Stoning of Stephen

Acts - Book of Transitions

(Acts 7:51-60). The book of Acts is a transitional book throughout, showing how God transitioned from His ministry to the Jews of the homeland (Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria) through Peter and the Twelve (Acts 1-12) to His ministry to the Jews of the dispersion and the Gentiles through Paul and his fellow-servants. In this message, we look at the stoning of Stephen, which the critical turning point that initiated this transition from Peter to Paul, marking Israel's rejection of the ministry of the Holy Spirit.

The book of Acts is one of the most important books in the Bible, touching on many key doctrines that affect how we worship and serve the Lord. Yet, it is also one of the most misunderstood books of the Bible, an issue that has caused great division among believers. This series of lessons is a verse by verse study, from a dispensational perspective, through the book of Acts, a book that is marked by transition. These messages were preached by Pastor Gregg Bing at Grace Bible Church during the morning worship service in 2022-2023.
