The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in history; it is the central theme of the Scriptures; it is the crisis point through which God’s eternal purpose of redemption was accomplished. It is imperative that we study and know about this critical event in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this series, we examine one particular aspect of the crucifixion: the 7 statements Jesus made while He hung on the cross. These statements, which were uttered during the greatest event in history, are clearly significant. We will look at the order in which the statements were made, the situation and purpose for each statement, and the insight each one gives us into the mind and heart of our Savior as well as the reason that He died on that cross.

The Sign Gifts Cease - Part 2
Certain sign gifts were needed as long as God's Word was not yet complete. These gifts included special wisdom and knowledge, as well as the gift of prophecy. 1 Corinthians 13:8-13 shows that while faith, hope, and love abide forever, the sign gifts would only be in operation until the Word of God was completed.

The key which unlocks the meaning of God's Word is found in 2 Timothy 2:15: "rightly dividing the Word of truth." This means approaching God's Word from a dispensational perspective; recognizing that throughout history God has dealt with different people, over different time periods, in different ways, and for different purposes. These messages demonstrate the importance of this principle for interpreting and understanding God's Word by providing a dispensational overview of the Bible, from Genesis to the Revelation.
