The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in history; it is the central theme of the Scriptures; it is the crisis point through which God’s eternal purpose of redemption was accomplished. It is imperative that we study and know about this critical event in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this series, we examine one particular aspect of the crucifixion: the 7 statements Jesus made while He hung on the cross. These statements, which were uttered during the greatest event in history, are clearly significant. We will look at the order in which the statements were made, the situation and purpose for each statement, and the insight each one gives us into the mind and heart of our Savior as well as the reason that He died on that cross.

These Bible messages were preached in 2020 by Pastor Gregg Bing during the morning worship service at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.

Spirit's Work in OT - In or Upon Men

The Holy Spirit

In the Old Testament, we find numerous instances of the Holy Spirit being in or coming upon men, not to indwell permanently, but usually to perform a particular work. People like Joseph, the craftsmen working on the tabernacle, and the judges are good examples, but He also came upon men like Balaam, King Saul, and Samson, so it was not related to the spirituality of the men.
