King Solomon was used of God to pen a book of wise proverbs to help govern the life of believers. One of these proverbs (4:23) says, “Keep (guard) your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.” In this brief study, we examine a passage in Paul’s letter to the Colossians which provides three principles to help us guard our hearts (Col. 3:15-17).

These Bible messages entitled “Guard Your Hearts” were preached by Pastor Gregg Bing in 2021 during the morning worship services at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.

Can a Person be too Broken? - David

Broken People

We continue looking at the question: Can a person be or become too broken for God to use? This morning, we look at this question in regard to the issue of whether we can commit a sin which is so terrible that God can no longer use that person in His service. A good example of this is David. Though God Himself called David, "a man after my own heart," yet David committed a series of sins that included adultery, murder, and deception to cover it all up. We explore how God worked in David's heart and life to restore him to a place of fellowship and service.
