There Remains a Rest for God's People

Hebrews

(Hebrews 4:1-11) While the children of Israel did not enter into the promised land at Kadesh Barnea to enjoy the rest God intended for them, there remains a rest for the people of God. Using Israel's failure at Kadesh as an example to his Hebrew readers (of what not to do), the writer follows this up with an exhortation to enter into this rest and describes what is neceessary to do so. The rest God has provided for His people goes beyond just a physical rest in the land. The real rest is the spiritual rest He has provided in His Son, Jesus Christ.
