Unconditional Election - 2

A Scriptural Look at Calvinism

We continue our study of the 2nd tenet of Calvinism, "Unconditional Election," which states that, before the foundation of the world, God unconditionally elected some for salvation through Jesus Christ, not based on their character or works, nor on God's foreknowledge of anything about this person (including their faith), but is solely the sovereign choice of God. We begin looking at the key proof text used to support this teaching, Romans 9:10-16, considering the context for this passage and how it addresses God's dealings with the nation of Israel as opposed to His dealing with individuals (salvation).

Scripture References: Romans 9:1-5
