Our Adversary the Devil
As believers, we are engaged in a spiritual warfare every day. Paul addresses this in the final section of the book of Ephesians (6:10-20). Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against a powerful spiritual enemy, Satan, whose very name means "adversary." He has great authority and holds power to influence and control the evil world we live in, so Paul issues two commands to believers: 1) Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, and 2) Put on the whole armor of God. These resources that God provides are needed if we are to stand against this enemy and withstand his attacks against us.
