Abraham - Faith in God's Power
(Hebrews 11:17-19) Abraham exhibited his faith in God throughout his life, though at times his faith did falter. This morning, we look at his greatest test of faith, when God instructed him to take his son, Isaac, whom he loved, and sacrifice him on Mount Moriah (Gen. 22). Abraham knew God had a purpose for his life and that He would fulfill that purpose through the promised seed, Isaac. Yet, he was willing to obey God and offer his son as a burnt offering, killing him on the altar. He trusted in God's power to work out His purpose in His own way, even it meant raising Isaac from the dead.
