Two Main Divisions of Scripture - Mystery
The two main divisions of Scripture are not, as many suppose, the Old and New Testaments. They are, instead, prophecy and mystery; the two main aspects of God's manifold wisdom by which He worked out His eternal purpose (His purpose for the ages). Last Sunday, we examined the first of these aspects: prophecy; God's prophesied purpose for His chosen people, the nation of Israel. This morning, we look at the second aspect: mystery, in particular, the mystery of God's will, the mystery of Christ that God kept secret until He made it known to and through the Apostle Paul for this present dispensation of grace.
