This series of messages is a dispensational look at the subject of prayer. Prayer is such an important part of our lives as believers, but we often don’t know how or what to pray for. Many believers take some passages out of context; instructions given specifically to Israel under the law or in anticipation of the kingdom, are applied to believers today in this present age of grace. This only causes confusion and often brings disappointment in a person’s prayer life. These lessons provide practical guidelines for prayer in this present dispensation of grace.

These Bible studies were taught by Gary Googe in the adult Sunday school class at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, Texas in 2019.

Why Was Paul Baptized in Water?

The Baptisms of Scripture

The Apostle Paul is God's apostle to the Gentiles, the steward of this present dispensation of grace during which God is dealing with the Church, the Body of Christ. Paul's commission was not the same as that of Jesus' twelve apostles. While they were definitely sent to baptize, Paul makes it clear that he was not. In addition, water baptism is clearly not required for salvation in this present age. These leads us to two key questions about Paul: 1) Why was Paul himself baptized in water when he was saved? and 2) Why did Paul baptize others with water during his Acts period ministry? In this lesson, we consider the answer to this first question.

From Series: "The Baptisms of Scripture"

This series of Bible studies examines the many different baptisms found in the Scriptures, looking at the practice and meaning of each. Much focus will be placed on the one baptism that is still in operation today in this present dispensation of God's grace: the baptism by the Holy Spirit that places believers into Christ. These lessons were given during the adult Sunday school class at Grace Bible Church in 2021.
