A Walk in Love

What the World Needs Now is Love

The world we live in, being divided over so many issues and filled with animosity and violence, needs love. But what kind? In this message, we examine the 4 primary Greek words for love: eros, storge, philia, and agape. We concentrate on agape love, the highest and noblest kind of love, the word the Holy Spirit uses to describe the love that is of God. This is the love that the world needs, but only believers in Jesus Christ are capable of showing this kind of love to others. We are commanded to "walk in love" as Christ loved us. But, what does agape love look like in a person's life? 1 Corinthians 13, the love chapter, describes the nature and characteristics of agape love (vs. 4-8). This kind of love is a powerful force to impact the lives of others; it "never fails."

From Series: "What the World Needs Now is Love"

We live in a world that is divided over so many issues: a global pandemic, racial equality, moral issues, social issues, politics, and religion. The divisions have become so intense that the world seems filled with envy, jealousy, enmity, and violence toward one another. Few treat others with respect, kindness, or love. Love is clearly the greatest need, but not the type of love the world thinks of. We need the type of love that comes only from God. This series deals with why type of love is missing from the world, where it comes from, and how it should be shown by those who know God through Jesus Christ.
