The Message of Pentecost - 3 - Christ Crucified

Acts - Book of Transitions

(Acts 2:21-24) As Peter explained to the Jews what happened on the day of Pentecost, he quoted Joel 2:28-32 which ends with an invitation to Israel to call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Calling upon His name meant recognizing Jesus as their Lord and their promised Messiah (Christ). This would be the conclusion of Peter's message to them (vs. 36), but he leads them to this conclusion with a powerful message proving who Jesus is (vs. 22-26). Peter began these proofs with Jesus' earthly ministry of miracles, wonders, and signs, which the Jews were well aware, yet they still rejected Him and crucified Him on the cross. This morning, we look at the two reasons why Jesus died on that cross, including the determined will of God as well as the lawless actions of the Jews.

From Series: "Acts - Book of Transitions"

The book of Acts is one of the most important books in the Bible, touching on many key doctrines that affect how we worship and serve the Lord. Yet, it is also one of the most misunderstood books of the Bible, an issue that has caused great division among believers. This series of lessons is a verse by verse study, from a dispensational perspective, through the book of Acts, a book that is marked by transition. These messages were preached by Pastor Gregg Bing at Grace Bible Church during the morning worship service in 2022-2023.
