Waiting on the Lord

Sunday Morning Message

No one likes to have to wait, but the truth is, we actually spend a lot of our time waiting: in traffic, at the bank, in doctor's offices, etc. We need to learn to wait patiently upon the Lord, realizing He often brings waiting periods into our lives to work out His purpose. In this message we look at how two different men responded to waiting situations: the first two kings of Israel, Saul and David. King Saul, in 1 Samuel 13, provides a negative example of a man who did not wait on the Lord, and had the throne taken from him. In David, we see a positive example of the man who was anointed of God to be king of Israel in Saul's place, but had to wait patiently 14 years before he was given the throne.
