Love for the World - Part 2

What the World Needs Now is Love

We have been commissioned by God, as believers, to not only maintain a good testimony for the Lord in our walk, but also to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with the unsaved. In 2 Corinthians 5:14-21, we find our commission in this present age of grace. This grace commission centers around the work of reconciliation, a work that God accomplished through the finished work of Jesus Christ: His death on the cross for our sins and His resurrection. Yet, God has given to us, His saints, a ministry of reconcilitation as ambassadors for Christ. He has also committed to us a word of reconciliation--the gospel of Jesus Christ found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. We show forth love for the world when we reach out to meet their greatest need and share this wonderful message of grace with those who so desperately need it.

From Series: "What the World Needs Now is Love"

We live in a world that is divided over so many issues: a global pandemic, racial equality, moral issues, social issues, politics, and religion. The divisions have become so intense that the world seems filled with envy, jealousy, enmity, and violence toward one another. Few treat others with respect, kindness, or love. Love is clearly the greatest need, but not the type of love the world thinks of. We need the type of love that comes only from God. This series deals with why type of love is missing from the world, where it comes from, and how it should be shown by those who know God through Jesus Christ.
