(Luke 18:13-14) The petition of the tax collector was a simple statement: "God, be merciful to me a sinner." His asking for God to be merciful was not simply a request for God to have compassion on him, but something that goes much deeper. In this study, we look at the meaning of the word "merciful" and show why this tax collector went home justified while the Pharisee did not.
