Israel's Response to the King - 6

The Parables of Jesus

Part 7 - "Israel's Response to the King - 6" (Matthew 12:31-42) - We continue looking at Israel's response to their King, the Lord Jesus. After accusing Jesus of casting out demons by the power of Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons, Jesus warned the Jewish rulers as well as the people against blasphemy against the Holy Spirit; a sin the nation would commit during the Acts period when they resisted the ministry of the Holy Spirit and were set aside as a nation. He challenged them to judge a person's heart by the fruit they produced: their words and deeds. The Pharisees then put Jesus to the test, asking Him for a sign. He answered that an evil and adulterous generation seeks after a sign, and no sign would be given except the sign of the prophet Jonah. Jesus' teachings in this passage clearly show this generation of Jews, being evil and adulterous, had already rejected Him as their Messiah and King.
