Before we begin looking at the 5 points of Calvinism, indicated by the TULIP acronym, we look at a doctrine commonly held by most Reformed theologians and Calvinists: the decrees of God. The basic statement of this doctrine is that God decrees or predetermines everything that happens, with no exceptions. We examine how this doctrine is explained by its proponents, and we consider some of the problem issues with this teaching.
