The Crucifixion of Jesus - 4

The Passion Week

The 4th statement Jesus made from the cross was the central one of the seven, which is fitting as it is the statement that best helps us understand the meaning of the cross. During the last three hours Jesus hung on the cross, a darkness covered the whole land. About the end of these three hours, Jesus cried out with a loud voice, "My God, My God, Why have You forsaken Me?" In this lesson, we look at what this cry meant and why He called out in such anguish to His Father.
