The Blood of the New Covenant

The Lord\'s Supper

The wine that was shared with the Twelve was said to represent Jesus' blood of of the new covenant which would be shed for many. The new covenant is between God and the people of Israel (Jer. 31:31-34), so this memorial observance has special meaning for Israel, but not for the Church of this age.
