Paul's Ministry in Philippi - 1

Acts - Book of Transitions

(Acts 16:6-24) As Paul's 2nd apostolic journey continues, with Silas and Timothy, they are called by the Lord to move into a new area, Macedonia. Their ministry there begins in the city of Philippi, a Roman colony. This morning, we look at their ministry to a group of women meeting by the riverside to worship, particularly to a woman named Lydia. We also see how Paul is also used of God to free a young slave girl from demon possession, which results in harsh persecution of Paul and Silas for their stand for Christ.

The book of Acts is one of the most important books in the Bible, touching on many key doctrines that affect how we worship and serve the Lord. Yet, it is also one of the most misunderstood books of the Bible, an issue that has caused great division among believers. This series of lessons is a verse by verse study, from a dispensational perspective, through the book of Acts, a book that is marked by transition. These messages were preached by Pastor Gregg Bing at Grace Bible Church during the morning worship service in 2022-2023.
