Why Have You Forsaken Me?

Jesus\' Words from the Cross

Jesus' last three hours on the cross were shrouded in a darkness that covered the land. It was during this time that He bore the sins of the world. As the time drew near for Jesus to die, He cried out with a loud voice, "My God, My God, Why have You forsaken Me?" This is the fourth statement of Jesus from the cross, the central of the seven things He spoke. It is the statement that best helps us understand the meaning of the cross, but, it is also the statement that is hardest for us to fully comprehend.
