(Eph. 3:6-9) One of the great blessings we are given by God when we trust Jesus Christ as Savior, is not only being saved from our sins unto eternal life and having a personal relationship with God through Christ, but also being called to be God's servants. But what does God call us to do? Most believers assume our instructions are the so-called "Great Commission," which Jesus gave to His apostles before His ascension. This morning, we look at the fact that their commission was in connection with their ministry to Israel during the Acts period, and is not our commission today. We also examine the 2-fold nature of our commision given to us through the Apostle Paul, God's apostle for this present age. Our marching orders are not found in the "Great Commission" but in the "Grace Commission" found in the writings of Paul.
A verse by verse, dispensational study through the book of Ephesians, one of Paul's prison epistles written while he was in prison in Rome at the close of the book of Acts. This book most fully unfolds the truth of the mystery of Christ; truth that had been kept secret from men of past ages, but has now been revealed to and through the Apostle Paul. This mystery of God's will concerns Gods' purpose for a new body of believers, the Church, the Body of Christ, living under a new dispensation of God, the dispensation of grace.
