The Noble Bereans

The Book of Acts

When Paul and Silas preached in the synagogue in Berea, the unbelieving Jews were more noble or open-minded than those in Thessalonica. They readily received the preaching of the Word and then searched the Scriptures daily to see if what Paul and Silas taught was true. However, the unbelieving Jews from Thessalonica followed the apostles to Berea and incited a riot against them, forcing Paul to travel on to Athens.
