God's Preceptive Will

The Will of God

The preceptive will of God is the declaration of His moral law; what God says is right and wrong, good and evil. God communicates this moral law in several ways: through the written law of Moses He gave to Israel, through the conscience every person is born with, and through His instructions to people found in the New Testament. Being a holy and righteous God, His moral law is what God desires His creatures to do, but we are not forced to do so. This leads us to the final aspect of God's will: His desired will, which we will explore in our next lesson.
