We begin looking at the baptism of John, a prophet sent by God as a messenger, a forerunner to go before the face of the Lord and prepare His way. He did so by making ready the people of Israel to receive their promised Messiah and King. John's message was "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!"

Much focus will be placed on the one baptism that is still in operation today in this present dispensation of God's grace: the baptism by the Holy Spirit that places believers into Christ.
