Photo of Founding Pastor Ike T. SidebottomThis collection of Bible messages on a variety of subjects were preached by our founding pastor, Ike T. Sidebottom, at College Avenue Church (original name of Grace Bible Church) in Fort Worth, TX back in the 1960s. Brother Ike, as he was affectionately known, was one of the foremost preachers and teachers of the Word of God, though he is best remembered by his true humility and love. He spoke with a slow, deep voice as he preached the gospel of God’s grace and taught the Word “rightly divided.” Sadly, these are the only recordings we have of Brother Ike in MP3 format.

Draw Near to God - 1

Spiritual Resolutions

The last few years, while difficult for everyone, have had a negative spiritual impact on Christians, meaning those who have truly trusted in Christ as Savior. There has a been a decline in spirituality and godliness among many believers which has not only affected their own lives, but has also negatively impacted our churches. As we begin a new year, we, as believers, need to resolve to make changes in our spiritual priorities. In this message, we begin a study in Hebrews 10:19-25 where we find three exhortations to Jewish believers regarding these very issues. While the interpretation of Hebrews concerns Israel directly, there are spiritual principles we can take from this book and apply to our lives today, during this present dispensation of grace. This message examines the first of these exhortations: "draw near to God," looking in particular at how sinners now have access to draw near to God for their salvation.
