The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in history; it is the central theme of the Scriptures; it is the crisis point through which God’s eternal purpose of redemption was accomplished. It is imperative that we study and know about this critical event in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this series, we examine one particular aspect of the crucifixion: the 7 statements Jesus made while He hung on the cross. These statements, which were uttered during the greatest event in history, are clearly significant. We will look at the order in which the statements were made, the situation and purpose for each statement, and the insight each one gives us into the mind and heart of our Savior as well as the reason that He died on that cross.

These Bible messages were preached in 2020 by Pastor Gregg Bing during the morning worship service at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.

That I May Know Christ

Knowing Christ

We are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength, but to love Him, we must first know Him. We come to know Him through His Son and our Savior, Jesus Christ. When God’s Son was made flesh and dwelt among men, it afforded us the opportunity to know God in a whole new way. This is more than just knowing about God, but having a close relationship with Him, a relationship that impacts our hearts and lives.
