The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in history; it is the central theme of the Scriptures; it is the crisis point through which God’s eternal purpose of redemption was accomplished. It is imperative that we study and know about this critical event in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this series, we examine one particular aspect of the crucifixion: the 7 statements Jesus made while He hung on the cross. These statements, which were uttered during the greatest event in history, are clearly significant. We will look at the order in which the statements were made, the situation and purpose for each statement, and the insight each one gives us into the mind and heart of our Savior as well as the reason that He died on that cross.

The Fellowship of His Sufferings - Part 1

Knowing Christ

Paul desired to know and experience Christ in several ways. We have seen his desire to experience the power of Christ's resurrection life working in and through him. This morning, we look at his desire to know and experience the fellowship of Christ's sufferings. We consider what this does not mean as well as what it does mean.
