The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in history; it is the central theme of the Scriptures; it is the crisis point through which God’s eternal purpose of redemption was accomplished. It is imperative that we study and know about this critical event in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this series, we examine one particular aspect of the crucifixion: the 7 statements Jesus made while He hung on the cross. These statements, which were uttered during the greatest event in history, are clearly significant. We will look at the order in which the statements were made, the situation and purpose for each statement, and the insight each one gives us into the mind and heart of our Savior as well as the reason that He died on that cross.

These Bible messages were preached in 2020 by Pastor Gregg Bing during the morning worship service at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.

Christ in Paul's Pastoral Epistles

Knowing Christ

In addition to his epistles to local churches, Paul also wrote epistles to men serving as pastors in local churches, particularly Timothy and Titus. The focus of these epistles is on the importance of "sound doctrine," teaching which enables believers to be spiritually healthy and grow in Christ. In this message, we examine what Paul meant by "sound doctrine" and consider three lessons we can learn from these important New Testament books that will help us to know Christ.
