The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in history; it is the central theme of the Scriptures; it is the crisis point through which God’s eternal purpose of redemption was accomplished. It is imperative that we study and know about this critical event in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this series, we examine one particular aspect of the crucifixion: the 7 statements Jesus made while He hung on the cross. These statements, which were uttered during the greatest event in history, are clearly significant. We will look at the order in which the statements were made, the situation and purpose for each statement, and the insight each one gives us into the mind and heart of our Savior as well as the reason that He died on that cross.

These Bible messages were preached in 2020 by Pastor Gregg Bing during the morning worship service at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.

Christ in the Hebrew-Christian Epistles

Knowing Christ

While the four gospels give us an account of Christ's sufferings, death, and resurrection, we don't find the meaning of the cross fully explained until we get to the New Testament epistles. These epistles include the Pauline epistles, written by God's apostle to the Gentiles, and the Hebrew-Christian epistles, written by those who had a special ministry to Israel. This morning, we look at how we can come to know and understand more about our Savior and His finished work of redemption from the Hebrew-Christian epistles, particularly the books of Hebrews and the Revelation.
