The crucifixion of Jesus Christ is the greatest event in history; it is the central theme of the Scriptures; it is the crisis point through which God’s eternal purpose of redemption was accomplished. It is imperative that we study and know about this critical event in the life of our Savior, Jesus Christ. In this series, we examine one particular aspect of the crucifixion: the 7 statements Jesus made while He hung on the cross. These statements, which were uttered during the greatest event in history, are clearly significant. We will look at the order in which the statements were made, the situation and purpose for each statement, and the insight each one gives us into the mind and heart of our Savior as well as the reason that He died on that cross.

These Bible messages were preached in 2020 by Pastor Gregg Bing during the morning worship service at Grace Bible Church in Fort Worth, TX.

The Sign Gifts Cease - Part 1

The Key to Understanding the Bible

With the revelation of the mystery, fully unveiling God's purpose for this present dispensation of Grace, one of the changes we see in God's dealings with men is that the sign gifts ceased (tongues, healing, casting out demons, etc.). God had always dealt with His people Israel using signs. When that nation was set aside in Acts 28, there was no longer a need for these sign gifts.

From Series: "The Key to Understanding the Bible"

The key which unlocks the meaning of God's Word is found in 2 Timothy 2:15: "rightly dividing the Word of truth." This means approaching God's Word from a dispensational perspective; recognizing that throughout history God has dealt with different people, over different time periods, in different ways, and for different purposes. These messages demonstrate the importance of this principle for interpreting and understanding God's Word by providing a dispensational overview of the Bible, from Genesis to the Revelation.
